Biology and Environmental Science There is some evidence to suggest that the variation in the size of penguin colonies is related to sea ice extent. Suppose a study was conducted to investigate the effect of sea ice extent and stormy weather on the size of penguin colonies along the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. Fifteen years were selected at random, and the data were recorded:
y = size of the penguin colony population.
x1 = sea ice extent (as a percentage)
x2 = number of stormy days (yearly total)
a. Estimate the regression coefficients in the model
b. Conduct the model utility test. Use a = 0.01.
c. Interpret the sign of each estimated regression coefficient.
d. Find the value of r2 and interpret this value.
e. Estimate the mean value of Y for a sea ice extent of 12.5% and 35 stormy days.
