the merit and demerit of using a large air gap length in induction motor?
Merit: A large air gap length results in higher overload capacity, better
cooling, reduction in noise and reduction in unbalanced magnetic pull. Demerit:
Magnetizing current is increased.

machine with a small air gap, why is the unbalanced magnetic pull high? The
percentage value of unbalanced magnetic pull becomes high with small air gap
length, if the rotor is out of centre even by a very small amount.
